Modix offers new assembly kits for large format FDM 3D printers


Modix has released three more models of large-format FDM 3D printers with upgraded fittings and new dimensions. The highlight of the Israeli company’s products is that they come as self-assembly kits, with the expectation of lower costs, lower delivery costs, and a wider choice of locations for mounting the equipment.

With three new variants, the range of 3D printers offered has grown to six models. The new products are structurally similar to the earlier Modix BIG-60 Generation 3.0, Modix BIG-120X and Modix BIG-120Z systems, and differ mainly in build area size and dimensions.

The Modix BIG-Meter is a 3D printer with a 1000x1000x1000mm build area, 1300x1470x1830mm dimensions and a 160kg weight, offered for $10,500.

Modix BIG-180X – a variant with a build area of 1800x1000x600 mm, dimensions of 2170x1070x1430 mm and weight of 240 kg. The main feature is increased print area in response to requests from the automotive industry. Sales price: $12,000.

The Modix BIG-40 is a more budget-friendly option with a build area of 400x400x800 mm, dimensions of 870x720x1520 mm and a weight of 100 kg. The device is optimized for printing long, but narrow products, such as dentures, with efficient use of production area. The device is offered for $4,500.

Earlier this year, Modix 3D printers received upgraded fittings that have migrated into new models as well. In their current form, the systems feature aluminum composite panel enclosures, single or dual E3D Aero extruders in standard Volcano or optional Super Volcano configuration, 32-bit microcontrollers from Duet3D, quiet Trinamic TMC2660 drivers, Hiwin rail guides, IGUS signal cables, Gates belts, optional carbon and HEPA filters, height-adjustable feet, automatic hundred-point calibration function, resume printing function in case of power failure, filament sensors, seven-inch touch screens, wireless communication modules (Wi-Fi).
